​I am 19 years old and I live in Wichita, Kansas. I am a sophomore at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan. Photography has been my passion and hobby ever since I took a photojournalism class my freshman year at Andover High School in Andover, Kan. With this new found passion, I decided to apply to be on the school yearbook staff. I quickly excelled my first year on staff as a photographer. The following year, I won the position as Photo-Editor. My senior year, I served as the Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, while also being on the staff of the school newspaper.​

​     I have experience in photography competitions on a regional, state and national level. Every year, my high school competed in the 5A/6A Kansas Scholastic Press Association Regional and State Competitions. Also, I have had the opportunity to travel to national journalism conventions the past three years in Kansas City, Minneapolis, San Antonio and San Francisco. My achievement highlights are landing a spot on the cover of the national magazine Communication: Journalism Education Today as well as receiving an Excellent rating in Photography Portfolio at the convention in San Antonio. Also in San Antonio, our yearbook and newspaper both received 10th Place in Best of Show in their respective categories out of hundreds of schools.

     In March of 2013, I won the title of Kansas High School Journalist of the Year and received a $1,250 scholarship. My 50 page portfolio was forwarded on to the national competition and I had the honor of representing Kansas at the convention in San Francisco in April. It was truly a great experience I will never forget.

     I now attend college at Baker University, where I serve as the photo-editor for the student newspaper, The Baker Orange. My success has continued into college, as I have placed in numerous regional and state collegiate competitions for photography.
